When they are adults, earn their own money and buy their own clothes THEN they can satisfy whatever whim they wish, but until that point, they get one shot to get their clothes and if they go out of style before they outgrow them, then that is just too bad. They need to figure out ways to accessorize and make them stylish. Or earn spending money to buy new clothes for themselves. Yes, it causes friction at times, but it is also raising responsible kids that don't throw temper tantrums and they treat me with respect because they KNOW treating me any other way will only get them grounded.Rachel Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16028302705303075759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1687634868432882350.post-83261589686369577292011-06-07T13:13:02.206-07:002011-06-07T13:13:02.206-07:00Thanks for the comments! Alexis, you should make your boys watch that awful (and awfully funny) American Idol audition "Pants on the Ground" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoAMWnnz98w.

Amy, I have a feeling that whatever the coach mandates, it won't be the cool option. They should have a Netflix service for clothes. That way, poor moms like us could just rent whatever our tween thinks she wants and then return it for whatever our tween realizes that she really wants.Alexandra MacAaronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12170190967227200779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1687634868432882350.post-5069388804848858222011-06-06T08:16:43.496-07:002011-06-06T08:16:43.496-07:00I am confused! Which shorts should I get for Tori?...I am confused! Which shorts should I get for Tori? The lacrosse team just got issued long mesh ones and the girls all hate them. They want the Nike track shorts. Is the Coach fashion-consious (probably by accident) and the Ohio girls woefully behind the times? If we are a "time-zone" behind in tween girls fashion, I guess I should have hit the Goodwill stores while we were in Boston.Amy B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17972727564937213821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1687634868432882350.post-90292044397631211942011-06-06T00:30:04.792-07:002011-06-06T00:30:04.792-07:00Another great blog! Question is - when do they outgrow it? xox, A.Alexis Minderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11263901130248942062noreply@blogger.com
